1. The present age of father is five times the age of the son. Five years ago, the age of father was  ten times the age of his son at that time. How old is father at present?

    Meeta's present age - M
    Sunita's present age - S
    M = S+4
    After 8 years, sum of their ages will be thrice of their present ages.
    So,
    (M+8)+(S+8) = 3(M+S)
    Substitute M=S+4 in above eqn.
    S+4+8+S+8 = 3(S+4+S)
    2S+20 = 3S+12+3S
    2S+20 = 6S+12
    4S = 8
    S=2

    Since M=S+4, Meeta's age = 2+4 = 6 years!!
